You really must watch this clip of Stephen Colbert interviewing Congressman Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia about the bill he co-sponsored to have the 10 commandments posted in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
Shout out to my pal Shanman, who is sorely in need of a blog, for the link. Love ya, babe.

Though now I wonder:
Bah. I got seven without looking. I could've tried for more, but I don't think "don't cheat" is, as such, an actual commandment.
Posted by: TJ on July 7, 2006 12:09 PMOMG! (That clip makes me want to find the West Wing episode where Toby corrects a high ranking official about what the first commandment is.)
I'll post it if I find it.
Posted by: shelley (not-so-cynical) on July 7, 2006 12:44 PMMichael Moore did this on his show "The Aweful Truth." He questioned few congressmen who were supporting a similar bill and not one of them was able to name all of the commandments. Priceless!
Posted by: Chris on July 7, 2006 06:26 PMI live amidst all this crap, you know! "what church do you go to" is the second question any stranger asks us! That's right after I tell them I am a Yankee, of course...
Posted by: meg on July 15, 2006 12:26 AM'what better building' - oh, i dunno - a CHURCH, perhaps?
