Stuff and such

Lots going on here:

A great visit from the Jaded Sister last week.

One of my best pals had his first child yesterday and I sniffed her little head today for the first time.

My favorite cow-orker is leaving me for a better gig.

Just found out today that a (dream) position is opening up in a related department at work that I never thought either of the current occupants would ever vacate, and you betcha I'm going to pursue it. Think the good thoughts for me, 'kay?

It's still wicked hot out.

The Israeli government is out of control. Hizbollah ain't much better.

The tunnel is still closed.

Mother Ju: After we drop Jaded Ju at the airport Saturday night, can we spend the rest of the evening together?
Cynical Ju: Aw, shucks, thanks for the invitation, but I was thinking that, after spending four days with you and Jaded Ju, then having two really stressful days at work, I'd kind of enjoy just going back to my own place and having some down time by myself.
MJ: But don't you want to be with meeeeeeeeeeeeeee?
CJ: Well, uh, see, what I'm trying to say is ....
MJ: We could maybe go see a movie! Or go out to dinner! Or both! What do you say?!
CJ: Uh, well, I guess it'd be okay ... if there's a way we could do it so that I could actually be at home alone, and you could go to dinner and a movie. Would that work for you? Because I'm really tired, and I could definitely use some time by myself.
MJ: That sounds great. How about Santarpio's for dinner? And what movie should we see?

Tell that jaded sister her bloggy voice is sorely missed.

Why are you sniffing babies?

Posted by: sally on July 20, 2006 11:22 PM

babies are SOOOO sniffable...yes. but it can make your ovaries ache (ouch! no, not like menstrual cramps). I'm so sad that Camden never really had BabySmell...

Posted by: meg on July 21, 2006 12:11 AM

Most moms look at me strange when I ask to sniff their babies...I ALWAYS ask first!!!

I'd like to take a moment to say hello to Linkmeister--sorry about stealing your blog space to do so!

Posted by: jadedju on July 21, 2006 06:56 PM

No apology necessary, O Ju-ish One. And Sally, it's only polite to ask before sniffing.

Posted by: cynical on July 21, 2006 10:59 PM

Yes, we need to be polite! The world is less and less polite. I MUST do my part!

HI, JadedJu! How's things?

Posted by: Linkmeister on July 23, 2006 04:49 PM

Linky, it's all good over here, except for the unseasonably hot weather, which Shelley can testify does not bring out the best in me. But the rest of life is fine! And you? How's things way, way, over there?

Posted by: jadedju on July 23, 2006 08:31 PM

Well, other than Hurricane Daniel aiming towards us (900 miles East), we're all fine. 90 degree weather and humid as hell, but...

Posted by: Linkmeister on July 25, 2006 02:05 AM

I wonder how much longer we can highjack Shelley's comments before she orders a cease-fire.

Posted by: jadedju on July 25, 2006 01:08 PM

Well, I could create an open thread over at my place for us to chat in. ;)
