My pants are too tight today so I don't want to get up from my desk.
But someone brought in cookies and, to get some, I need to get up from my desk.
But if I get some cookies, my pants will never not be tight.
Update: The cookies are really good. You should try them (especially the snickerdoodles) (although the Toll House bars are also tasty).
Update #2: My pants are now unbuttoned.
Posted by cynical at December 14, 2006 09:33 AMSame way I feel about the kilogram of French truffles some company (which I had never heard of or dealt with) sent me. Yesterday, at an 8:30 a.m. meeting, another editor put a box of Godiva chocolates on the table and all but forced us to eat them because he's got too many chocolates piling up.
Posted by: adamg on December 14, 2006 11:07 AMDid I mention that I've been grading?
Grading means long hours of sitting on the couch (grading), and eating crap (Doritoes; Goldfish--the crackers, not the critters; Cheetoes).
I'm making a concerted effort to have something healthy for lunch, like popcorn.
:)
(Oh, and as for the pants, I have two words: elastic waistband.)
Posted by: shelley (not-so-cynical) on December 14, 2006 12:48 PMOK, what you need to do is focus on the cookies and not the pants and also the exercise getting up from your desk and walking to the cookies...
Posted by: sally on December 14, 2006 03:16 PMDamn, I want some cookies... but I have that pants problem too. :-(
Posted by: lazydog on December 14, 2006 03:43 PMI'm with the other shelley...Elastic all the way Baby!!!
Posted by: chapin on December 14, 2006 07:00 PMI love snickerdoodles. I don't like tight pants either.
Note to self: must get elastic-waist pants before I bake.
Posted by: Karan on December 14, 2006 07:02 PMRegarding pants, why is it that I wear a 34" waist and the damned things are loose but I have to have a 38" belt and even then I can't buckle it past the second notch?
I realize that women have a whole litany of complaints about the way clothing is sized these days and my gripe is itsy-bitsy, but it's annoying nonetheless.
Back to cookies, sorry.
Posted by: Linkmeister on December 15, 2006 02:10 AMI just had my second piece of chocolate cream cake and it isn't even 10am.
Posted by: Christopher on December 15, 2006 09:40 AMHunny, my pants have been tight and unbuttoned since thanksgiving... Boyfriend deemed the week of as "fat week" and I've taken it to a whole new extreme and am now living "fat month"...
Nonetheless, I feel your frustration, but am giving msyelf persmission to eat whatever the holidays may bring and, like 10,000s of ppl, will start the new year off on a diet :)
