Ahhhhh.

I still hate the word mucus and everything it stands for, and I haven't stopped feeling this way about certain kinds of advertisements, but things reached a kind of critical mass last weekend and, well, steps had to be taken. I refused to purchase one particular product, however, despite all sorts of recommendations, so I was extremely relieved to discover that my favorite pharmacy has come up with its own version of that mucus-fighting miracle worker. As an added bonus, the shit makes you sleep like a freaking baby. I slept, like, ten hours a night plus naps all weekend, no coughing. My pancreas seem to be regenerating, thanks for asking.

Oh, man, you have this same crud? I haven't slept a full night since Feb 4!

Plus, the CVS brand is much cheaper!

I had two back-to-back colds in January and eary February and am still plagued with unwanted mucus, so I expect I'll be taking some at bedtime, too.

Oh, yes, it's a billion times cheaper, and I don't have to pay to support the ad agency that came up with the idea of a whole animated mucus FAMILY! (Really, it's so far past wrong, it goes all the way around past right and hits wrong two more times.) I'm a supporter of the "DM" version of CVS' medicine, personally, whereas Mother Ju endorses the "D" - which, apparently, one has to purchase at the register because it contains pseudoephedrine. Which incidentally means that now Mother Ju is on the FBI's (or somebody's) most wanted list of methamphetamine manufacturers, all because she likes a nip of freaking SUDAFED from time to time. I'm glad the feds have nothing better to do than chase white-haired old ladies with chronic bronchitis around ....

Hey Shelley -

M U C U S.

Boss Lady's had the cough that never ends, too. It must be the fad this year.

I've got the crud too, going on day 17 here. I had to give over my driver's license just to purchase Sudafed. So, mother Ju and I are both on the meth head list now.

Just out of curiosity...You do know that most "generic" store brands are produced by the exact same manufacturer of the name brand? They only sell them cheaper because it doens't have the "Name Brand" on the package. A good example would be Equate (The walmart brand)...sits right next to the name brand stuff, has packaging that, except for the name, looks identical to the named stuff....
Just saying....
(Am I being to cynical?)

Yep, I'm aware of that, Woody. Tampax tampons are a perfect example, not that you'd know ....

Because Cynical's too good to come visit us.

(I suddenly feel like I'm in a Punch and Judy show.)
