You really, REALLY must see Kiki & Herb: Alive from Broadway if you possibly can. Kiki & Herb were allegedly going to retire after their last show, but their "public" demanded their return and, after last night's show, I understand why. This duo is funny, topical, apparently alcoholic, and talented. They're headed to San Francisco next (the show closes in Boston on June 30th), then to Sydney. Check out their MySpace page for updates on their Year of Magical Drinking Tour, and go see their show if you know what's good for you.
Posted by cynical at June 27, 2007 11:29 AMHahaha. I LURVE Kiki and Herb! They lived here for a long time, and Kiki and my paths crossed quite often. I had a crush, I admit it.
Anyway, once again we were (not) separated at birth, cuz I have tix for opening night.
Posted by: jadedju on June 27, 2007 12:19 PMhave you ever heard of Richard Cheese, speaking of lounge?
he's like Weird Al, only he doesn't write parody words it is parody style.
he's awesome. he's got 6 my space pages. that's how awesome he is.
he's really talented, and because he takes a genre that should never be covering "black hole sun" and does a GREAT job of it, he's actually genius.
in my opinion.
Posted by: christine on June 27, 2007 01:30 PMChristine -- nope, never heard of Mr. Cheese, but sounds like a similar concept to K&H. To wit, one of their best numbers last night was their own special version of "Love is a Battlefield."
Jillyju -- I am more convinced than ever that we would have met and become friends even if we hadn't been born to the same set of parents. xoxo
